Responsibilities

We are seeking a Safety Engineer (all genders) to join our team. In this role you play a key role in our projects, ensuring that safety requirements are consistently met from concept through implementation:
  • You develop and implement safety protocols that meet industry standards and regulations
  • You conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and define preventive measures
  • You analyze and document system requirements to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards
  • You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements into system designs
  • You train team members on safety practices and protocols
  • You investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • You prepare detailed reports on safety assessments, incidents, and compliance status

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering)
  • Experience in Safety Assessment and aviation
  • Experience with requirements management processes
  • Understanding of ARP 4754 (System Development Process)
  • Basic knowledge of the safety process according to SAE 4761
  • Hands-on experience with at least one Fault Tree Analysis tool (e.g., CAFTA, Isograph Reliability Workbench, Ansys Medini)
  • Knowledge of FMEA methodology
  • Great language skills in German and English 
  • Background in Systems and/or Safety Engineering
  • Industry experience in aviation and hydrogen technologies
  • Knowledge of cryogenic components and liquid hydrogen
  • Familiarity with development standards: DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C
